WhP has been providing e-learning localization for large IT customers since 1994. Today e-learning content is multimedia, mobile, and social. We have adapted our Localization services to match the growing complexity of the projects, with a strong emphasis on Project Engineering.
Our workflow for E-Learning localization
Our e-learning localization services include:
- Voice-over recording and synchronization
- Script creation, sometimes transcription of the original master
- Script translation
- Subtitle translation and production
- Video production
- Audio and video post-production
- Art and graphics localization
- Animation localization
Turnkey e-Learning localization – We bring together the professionals required for the project, as well as manage the wide array of tools, file formats, and Learning Content Management Systems. Corporate universities, customer support organizations, and training agencies, selling either off-the-shelf or customized programs, work with us for their multilingual training content.
Cultural adaptation – Content retention is key, so we take special care in adapting it to match the learner’s culture and make his experience immersive. Videos, scenarios, and characters can miss their objective because of their underlying cultural references. For example, a training course for Chinese learners was based on “Who Wants to be a Millionaire”, a program that is not broadcast in China. Our Project Managers will identify the inappropriate content, suggest several alternatives and their cost.
Content Engineering – Learning Content generally includes a set of components, assembled within a CMS or integration tools. WhP’s localization engineers start the project by extracting from the media files the content that needs translating, including the hidden texts, or text embedded in images and animations. That way all the assets are identified from the very beginning.
Linguistic Expertise – WhP’s expert translators are proficient in our customer’s industry and accustomed to working with the time and length constraints set by videos, animations, and interfaces. Furthermore, we guarantee terminology consistency with the customer’s other collaterals as well as over time by maintaining a terminology database.
Software proficiency – WhP engineers develop multilingual training content for the following applications:
- Adobe Captivate
- Adobe Premiere
- TechSmith Camtasia Studio
Content authoring and structure advice – WhP can guide the customer on how to build localization-friendly courseware to optimize costs.
