Managing Terminology supports both the accuracy and consistency of your translation, no matter what content is being translated. With the help of Terminology, it is easier to localize products for global markets and enhance corporate brand image. Terminology management is key to quality translation, especially when working on:

  • Highly technical content
  • Large project involving many translators working in parallel – Terminology is the best way to ensure consistency.
  •  Software documentation or related training material – Terminology is a guarantee that references to the software are fully consistent with the GUI.

WhP offers Terminology management services to match your needs:

  • If the customer does not have a Term Base, WhP will suggest a process and solutions taking into account project specificities (project duration, technical aspects of the content, volume for translation, number of translators involved, etc.). As a minimum, WhP will set-up a Query & Answers process through which linguists will query specific terms to validate comprehension and/or customer preferred translation.

Ideally, care should be taken during the content creation phase as lack of Terminology consistency in the source make Terminology management rather complex and time-consuming during localization. The use of Authoring tools can help to do that. During Quarterly Business Reviews WhP makes recommendations on how to improve the overall process to minimize cost and maximize quality translation.

With WhP, customers also own the IP rights on any resulting Term Base.
